As all of you already know, our youth ministry is going on a month long fasting and praying from 30th April to 30 May. And i am terribly terribly sorry to have forgotten to inform you =p.
Anyway, the objectives are:
1) Seeking God for ourselves, to know Him deeper, to know His heart and align our lives more according to what He wants us to do and become.
2) For our youth ministry in COOS.
You should be fasting from food in certain ways:
1) Fasting one meal a day
2) Fasting from favourite food like maybe Sweets, beef, ice cream (Ben and Jerry's) haha
3) Others: there are many types of fasts in the bible, you can ask around if you're not sure about what they are...
You can also fast from something that you depend on or that you spend too much time on:
Some examples:
1) youtube videos
2) Caffeine
3) Computer games
4) Sleep
etc.....
Just remember, fasting is about sacrificing, not putting down something that does not cost anything to you. Let's take this very seriously!!! Because we are in a season of change in our youth ministry and we need to partner God and our leaders to pray and ask God to lead us as we build His kingdom!!!
